Care and Maintenance of your Resin Bound Drive

We often get asked about the after care of one of our resin bound drives and all of our customers will receive a care and maintenance document for details.

A resin bound surface is a very low maintenance surface, which is just one of the reasons why more and more people are enquiring about our services, for both residential and commercial applications.

The important points as follows;
We recommend a light jet wash once or twice a year. This will keep the surface looking clean and tidy whilst keeping the surface open, allowing rain to drain through easily as designed.

Any spills of any kind should be removed quickly. Most spills can be removed by warm soapy water and a cloth or brush whilst for oil spills, if required there are degreasers available from automotive stores.

Should any heavy building work be scheduled, then it is wise to cover the area with boarding or sheeting and we always recommend that skips are placed on boards to eliminate any risk of scoring the surface.

Weeds do not grow through the surface as the aggregates are too tightly packed together. On occasions however, a seed that has been left by a bird dropping or similar, can attempt to grow from the top surface. A local application of weed killer diluted to correct levels will not harm the resin and deal with the weeds. The same method is utilised for dealing with any moss that may grow in damp shady areas.
